Where Is Space Camp?
Space Camp is a week-long program and takes place at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center, which is one of Alabamas most popular points of interest. In league with the Smithsonian, the
U.S. Space & Rocket Centeris the largest space museum on earth. The Rocket Center also serves as the official visitor center for NASAs Marshall Space Flight Center. If your child has some hearing and/or visual impairments, the space camp can cater to accommodate your child.
What Should Your Kid Pack?When your child attends Space Camp, your kids will want to pack a pillow, bed linens, pajamas, and toiletries, along with at least two towels and shower shoes. Your children will also need comfy clothes that are appropriate to participate in a number of activities. Your kid will have the opportunity to participate in some water activities, so be sure to pack them an appropriate bathing suit. Your child will also want to bring a water bottle and spending money for snacks at the vending machine.
Your child will need to come prepared for camp. As a participant in the weeklong overnight Space Camp, however, they will will receive a clothing package, which consists of a t-shirt, a hooded sweatshirt, shorts, and sweatpants as well as a backpack.
