Meet the Owner

Tom Brown started his restaurant career as a dishwasher at the age of 13 and immediately knew it was something he wanted to pursue. After a brief segue into a few other industries, Tom opened his first successful restaurant in a renovated historic building in Mississippi. When he heard about the growing Madison area and the opportunities it offered, he partnered with friend Paul Daley to create the premium casual restaurant we now enjoy. Tom’s focus is on offering delicious meals, made with the finest ingredients, in a welcoming atmosphere.

The extensive menu at Tom Brown’s Restaurant includes a wide variety of appetizers, soups and salads, and entrees. We suggest starting with Tom’s signature Mean Green Egg Rolls, filled with pulled pork and collard greens and drizzled with his house-made white and mustard BBQ sauce. For your main course we recommend the ribeye, though the bison tenderloin is not to be missed. We also think the brown gravy-based TB Shrimp and Grits is a work of perfection. If you have trouble deciding between entrees, consider going with your first choice and choosing an add-on like pan seared jumbo sea scallops or a broiled lobster tail. The kids’ menu is sure to bring you a chuckle with options like the “I Don’t Care” (grilled cheese with fries) and the “Just Pick Something” (golden fried jumbo shrimp).
